The Hitoki Trident laser bong melds classic features into a futuristic, high-tech bong that changes the way people smoke. Laser combustion offers clean flavor with a precision in consistency that you’ve never experienced before.
Hitoki’s laser bongs are game-changing with a minimalistic design that shows you the future of bongs.
What Is a Laser Bong & Why Do I Need One?
A laser bong sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie – and it kind of is. Laser bongs are exactly what they sound like – bongs that use lasers to heat things up.
Hitoki’s laser bong is the brainchild of Joe and Jack Tran. And not surprisingly, they came up with the idea to use lasers after smoking a joint. They may have envisioned using cheap laser toys at the time, but their final product is nothing short of a work of art.
Hitoki creates a more mature, elegant smoking experience with its laser bongs.
So, what exactly does the laser do?
Along with elevating the user experience, Hitoki’s laser also acts as the heating element. And it creates impressively smooth hits.
Hitoki’s bongs harness the power of pure light energy to take your smoking experience to the next level. The process is similar to using a magnifying glass to concentrate sunlight into a small area, generating enough heat and energy to set things alight.
It’s a butane-free, chemical-free experience, so you enjoy pure, unadulterated flavor.
But let’s be honest – no one cares that much about the laser’s function. Yes, it produces smooth hits, but its looks are just as impressive. The bright blue laser beam makes you feel like you’ve stepped into the future.
And if you’re worried about safety, don’t be. Each unit comes equipped with a laser shield for safety and protection. These bongs are FDA standard safe.
The bigger question is – why don’t you need a laser bong?
If you want a new vaping experience or you want to impress your friends, it doesn’t get much better than Hitoki’s laser bongs.
Does it come at a high price? Sure. But it’s a bong with a laser.
Hitoki has two models available right now – the Trident and the Saber. Both offer the kind of quality you’d expect from a high-end water pipe. And they’re both backed by a 6-month warranty. We are focusing on the Trident laser bong for this review. We should get our hands on the Saber model soon…
How to Use a Laser Bong
Using a laser bong isn’t much different from any other water pipe. In the box, you’ll find:
- The device itself
- A charger
- A poker
- A silicone hose
The first step is to make sure the device is fully charged. Next, it’s time to load up the chamber and water reservoir.
Filling the Chamber with Herb
Hitoki’s laser bongs only hold a small amount of herbs. The ceramic chamber unscrews from the base, which makes it easy to fill.
But it can be a tedious process.
You’ll need to grind your herbs very finely and take care not to overpack the chamber. It can easily become a process of grinding, filling, packing and repeating. The laser itself will combust a small area, so you may need to stir things up.
Loading the Water
To load the reservoir with water, start by unscrewing the acrylic base. Once the base is detached, you can add a small amount of water, which will help cool the vapor and smoke.
Hitoki’s instruction manual says to fill the reservoir to the fill line. The line isn’t easy to see, and this is one drawback of this unit. But generally, you only need a small amount of water with this unit. If you’re used to using a regular bong, you may be tempted to fill the reservoir up. But it’s important to resist this temptation and only fill it up to the fill line.
Make sure the reservoir is screwed on tightly and properly secured before you move on to the next step.
The Trident is super simple to operate. It has just one button at the top of the device. Pressing the button five times will turn the unit on or off.
The power button will glow either red, green or blue, depending on the temperature settings you want. To cycle through these settings, just press the button three times. Blue is the hottest temperature and red is the lowest.
To fire up the laser, either:
- Hold the power button, or
- Tap the button twice
Before you fire up the laser, double-check to make sure that the unit is properly closed. The laser can damage your eyes or skin if you’re not using it properly. Yes, there’s a shield for protection, but that won’t help you if you’re not using the unit as intended.
Once everything is packed up and ready to go, all that’s left to do is tap the button twice. The laser will fire up and combust your herbs instantly.
The Overall Experience
Taking a hit for the first time with a new bong is exciting. You never know what to expect. And you never want to be let down. Hitoki is smooth from the first toke to the last and the taste only seems to get better the more hits you have.
Laser combustion is different...
If you’ve always used a regular bong, you’re going to appreciate the clean taste. Tasting butane with a regular bong always leaves this unappealing flavor in your mouth.
You get the full flavor of the flower with ultra-clean combustion.
Hitoki’s Trident and Saber put you in full control of your experience, making it easier to pull and hit. You’ll be taken aback by the first hit because it’s different than the large hits from butane bongs, but you’ll never want to go back to the chemical taste that your former bong produces.
Hitoki Trident Review
The Trident is the original laser bong from Hitoki. It’s a kind of hybrid device that combines vaporizing and combustion elements to give you the best of both worlds.
Single-button ignition makes this bong easy to use, even for newbies. There are three power levels available, each indicated by color:
- Red: Dry blends
- Green: Denser blends
- Blue: Blends with oils
The laser uses light energy instead of a heating element to create a new kind of smoking experience.
The Trident is a work of art, offering a high level of durability and quality. Each unit features:
- Aircraft-grade aluminum exterior
- Built-in water filter
- Carb button
- Ceramic loading chamber that’s easily removable
The laser combusts material instantly, creating a fast and clean smoking experience.
How to Use the Trident
The Trident’s inner workings may sound complicated, but this bong is incredibly easy to use. Here’s how it works:
- Load your material into the ceramic loading chamber.
- Lock the chamber into place.
- Light things up.
Each charge will give you 280+ ignitions, and the unit uses a USB-C for fast recharging. One thing to note here is that you can’t use the bong while it’s recharging, so plan ahead.
The Trident has a single button, so it’s exceptionally easy to use. The LED feedback makes it even more user-friendly.
Over time, the ceramic bowls get a little grimy and need to be replaced. Hitoki sells replacement ceramic loading chambers in packs of three for a reasonable price.
